Postdoc in Trusted Repeater Quantum Key Distribution Networks
Currently, there is a postdoc opening in the Optical Quantum Communication Theory Group at the Institute for Quantum Computing, University of Waterloo. The research is centered about the use of trusted repeater nodes to build QKD networks. We will explore novel ideas of simplified trusted nodes as part of a larger research effort with our US partner. We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher who is looking forward to explore new protocol ideas.
Basic knowledge of basic security proof techniques for realistic quantum key distribution systems,
Interest in fundamental questions regarding multi-party correlations in quantum physics
Enthusiasm for mathematical rigorous treatments.
The position is available starting on October 1st 2013 or later, but at the latest on January 1st 2014. The position is for a two year contract with an option for an extension to a third year. The salary is 60.000 C$ plus University of Waterloo benefits and will come with an earmarked travel budget.
